Very Informative.

I liked the the description of the how the activities are structured which gives you a snap shout of how you will be using the activities, the materials used, how to involve parents and the appropriate space to do the activities. I also likedhow the activities can be modified to be easier for younger children and more challenging for older or advanced children. I like the parent letter that is used at the beginning of each chapter that explains the learning goals and the skills the children will gain.

Peace in the classroom

It's not just financiers and politicians who need to have a moral basis for their actions. Teachers can also contribute meaningfully to society by helping their students to develop skills that enable them to be responsible and creative citizens. In this very welcome book for pre-schoolers, therefore, the author (who is professor of Human Development at Kansas State University in Manhattan) focuses on friendship skills, compassion skills, cooperation skills, and kindness skills. These quantitatively un-measurable factors have largely been left behind in the testing frenzy that is taking over education. But as Einstein tells us, "Not everything that can be counted counts, and not everything that counts can be counted." Having said this, it's great to see a book that is so practical, with so many wonderful examples of how to promote a non-threatening learning and living environment, through simple, peaceful learning activities. If we want to change society, then the classroom is a very good place to start, and being friendly, compassionate, cooperative, and kind, do not exclude students from passing exams. Rather, they make for better future professionals and human beings. Surely, this is the role of the teacher.

At first, let me introduce myself shortly. I'm a university student in Korea. In this semester, we are studying TOEFL for the first time. Our English professor strongly recommended this book and we accepted without detail information. But we worried about TOEFL study because we didn't have any time to study TOEFL. But this book provided much satisfaction for us during the class. This book used easy words and interesting sentences for beginners. Nevertheless, the sentence structure is very good. In addition, a three(3) piece of cassette tape is very useful for students to improve listening ability. Also Vocabulary Appendix is very useful for me. Especially this book provided careful concern at the answer key by the adding the reasons. For example, Exercise 8A, 2. They live here since 1942. In this answer key, not only it was circled at error word "live" and be corrected to "have lived" but also underlined at hint word "since". Because of this, we can easily find the correct answer and understand. I convinced that you could promote your English in short time by this book. Also you can defeat the fear at TOEFL. He shows you how to draw from basic eye and head template to drawing villains, from preteens to clothes and hairstyles. This book is a must for any who want to learn to draw Anime! I have just started drawing again after many years, I knew that Anime would be the way to go, I didn't know how to get started, I found Christopher Hart collection of drawing books, (which I own about 7) and now I cant stop, it help me to understand all I need to kick start my career. Can not wait for more books.

11-year-old artist in the making

I bought this book for my artisticy inclined 11-year old daughter who has fallen in love with anime characters. I am a professional animator myself and this books reminds me of the things I learned while getting my fine arts degrees. I plan to go through it with her and help her understand how to create the characters' proportions and angles, and this book does a great job of introducing those concepts.

The book's quality exceeded my expectations for a paperback book at the below $20 price range. It's pages are very high quality paper. The book cover is made of a high grade material that won't tare easily or quickly get bent or misshapen.

The illustrations are large and clear and the steps to each are very clear and easy to follow. The colors are vibrant and exciting. There are loads of visuals and great images in this book. I love how it is broken into sections to explain how to make characters have different emotions, how to make lovable heroes or evil bruding villains. Or how to make clothing styles. And the images are large enough to trace with tracing paper so my daughter can begin to get a feel for the correct angles and proportions of the character's features.

I am extremely pleased with this drawing guide and will be seeking out more guides from this author and publisher in the future.
